WHEN IN MILAN

Oh Milan.. city of sophistication, the place where style is born, men in suits ride Vespas and woman look effortlessly chic. It's also the city that beautiful monuments, secret green gardens and L'Ultima Cena (The last supper) by Leonardo Da Vinci call home.
It's the city that is even more beautiful during the Salone del Mobile, the biggest and most leading interior exhibition in the world. The big labels show their latest collection, and the rest of Milan is filled with an amazing atmosphere and new, creative and innovative designs. Enjoy!

A new season also brings new it-girls to obsess over..

Meet the new girls about town; best friends Kendall Jenner and (half-Dutch!) Gigi Hadid, both 19. 

Whether they are rocking the runway in stunning looks by Michael Kors and Dolce & Gabbana or looking fierce in amazing editorials for Vogue and Love Magazine, these girls are everywhere.

INTRODUCING: Ceramist Kirstie van Noort

Eindhoven based ceramist Kirstie van Noort has been one of my favorite designers for a long time.

I recently visited her studio and felt completely inspired by her and her work. 

I admire her approach and use of raw materials and the way she gives a deeper meaning to her designs. This approach is shown in her collection: ‘Ceramic Paint / Collection Cornwall’.

The collection shows 108 colors that came into being after research into raw materials which originate from the porcelain, tin and copper industry in Cornwall.

De in Eindhoven gevestigde keramist Kirstie van Noort is al lang een van mijn meest favoriete ontwerpers. Ik bezocht onlangs haar studio en voelde me volledig geinspireerd door haar en haar werk. Ik bewonder haar benadering en gebruik van ruwe grondstoffen en de manier waarop ze haar werk een diepere betekenis geeft. Deze aanpak is te zien in haar collectie: ‘Ceramic Paint / Collection Cornwall’. De collectie laat een palet van 108 kleuren zien die ontstonden na onderzoek van ruwe grondstoffen die hun origine vinden in de porselein, tin en koper industrie in Cornwall.

It's March! That means spring is (almost) here.

COR UNUM CERAMICS

Their ceramics are sold all over the world, from New York to Tokyo and they've collaborated with
both national and international designers such as Kiki van Eijk and Marc Newson. But are still manufactured in 's-Hertogenbosch, the city where I grew up: Cor Unum ceramics.
Today I got the chance to take a look around in their studio as they had an open door day. It's so beautiful to see the craftsmanship and to see passionate people make ceramics by hand.
What makes their designs so appealing is that their not afraid to give them an edge, by experimenting with color and shape.

Hun keramiek wordt over de hele wereld verkocht, van New York tot Tokio, en hebben samengewerkt met nationale en internationale ontwerpers zoals Kiki van Eijk en Marc Newson.
Maar wordt nog steeds vervaardigd in 's-Hertogenbosch, de stad waar ik opgroeide: Cor Unum keramiek. Vandaag kreeg ik de kans om een kijkje te nemen in hun atelier tijdens een open dag. Het is zo mooi om het vakmanschap en de gepassioneerde mensen te zien die keramiek met de hand maken. Wat hun ontwerpen zo aantrekkelijk maakt is dat ze niet bang zijn ze een 'edge' te geven door te experimenteren met kleur en vorm.

Short, shorter, shortest..(and a new LC!)

Who would have thought that the queen of the long blonde whimsical waves would say goodbye to her signature look. As a major fan of her style I was very surprised to see her new (and very cool!) hairstyle. Not once, but three times in one month she visited her hairstylist and BFF Kristin Ess for a chop. See the final result below! With her bob and leather jacket, Lauren Conrad officially changed into a cool girl! Kudos to you Lauren, for being such a cool chick.. and for now, enjoy your bob!

Wie had gedacht dat de koningin van de lange blonde krullen haar 'signature look' vaarwel zou zeggen. Als trouwe fan van haar stijl was ik verrast toen ik haar nieuwe (en zeer coole!) look zag. Niet één, maar drie keer in één maand tijd zat ze in de kappersstoel bij haar haarstylist en BFF Kristin Ess voor een knipbeurt. Het laatste resultaat staat onderaan de pagina. Met haar boblijn en leren jasje is Lauren Conrad een echte cool girl geworden!

Respect voor jou Lauren, omdat je zo'n coole chick bent.. en voor nu, geniet van je bob!

STRAIGHT FROM THE RUNWAY: New York Fashion Week

I can't wait for spring! 

Seeing all the beautiful spring collections shown at NYFW, 

makes me want to skip winter all together and wear cute floral dresses and pastels.

Besides pastels and florals, the designers chose playful patterns and classy stripes for next season.

Again, I chose my favorite looks straight from the runway!

Ik kan niet wachten tot het lente is!

Nadat ik alle mooie collecties van NYFW heb gezien wil ik de winter 

gewoon overslaan en meteen die leuke bloemenjurkjes en pastels aan!

Naast pastels en bloemen kozen de ontwerpers voor speelse dessins en klassieke streepjes 

voor volgend seizoen. Wederom heb ik mijn favoriete looks gekozen, direct vanaf de catwalk!
